NCSSEF contributed funding towards the completion of a habitat project on the mainstem Necanicum River. This project will benefit a variety of fish species (fall chinook, coho, chum, winter steelhead, cutthroat trout) through the addition of large woody debris and boulders. This created additional in-stream habitat complexity and added cover to an area of stream lacking these qualities. Fish will benefit from the additional rearing habitat and refuge created by this project. In addition, approximately 300 feet of river bank was planted with native riparian vegetation to restore the natural functions of this important streamside area.
