Other Projects

Since the beginning the primary goal of the NCSSEF has been to support and fund projects that help both fish and fisherman.  Through the years we have used our dollars to fund and leverage additional funding for a variety of important projects.  Those investments have resulted in millions of dollars worth of improvements to our North Coast fisheries. 

RENDEZVOUS FUNDED PROJECTS     since 2003

 

  • Funded fish trap for Bays Creek
  • Funded equipment for Trask hatchery egg room discharge
  • Purchased fish feed for 10,000 winter steelhead to restore lost production on the Nestucca River
  • Purchased fish feed for 30,000 wild broodstock winter steelhead to restore lost production on the Wilson River    
  • Funded Hughey Creek pumps and alarm system
  • Purchased waders for Nestucca Connections high school volunteers to work at hatchery and in the field
  • Purchased new generator for pump and alarm system at Hughey Creek pond 
  • Funded creel survey on the North Fork of the Nehalem River in preparation for possible future wild broodstock program similar to the Wilson River program   
  • Partially funded portable liberation tank for transporting adult salmon & steelhead on primarily the Nestucca and Wilson Rivers, although could be used for any fish transportation needs   
  • Purchased five 12 volt deep cycle batteries for capture boxes used in Nestucca River broodstock program
  • Funded two Canadian troughs and ten belt feeders for the Trask River hatchery which helps to minimize egg and fry loss
  • Trask hatchery pond liner repair project
  • Rebuilt equipment shed and installed previously purchased generator at the Hughey Creek Pond site
  • Large woody material log jam on Necanicum River
  • North Fork Nehalem River check station signs in preparation for future possible wild broodstock program
  • Funded gravel for road into Hughey Creek acclimation pond
  • Helped to fund log jam removal at the railroad bridge on the Trask River, caused by flooding in November of 2006
  • Purchased 12 twelve volt batteries for capture boxes for broodstock programs                                         
  • Partially funded the purchase of a new fish liberation truck for Cedar Creek hatchery
  • Funded crane rental to move two pumps at Tuffy Creek, to be reused at Trask hatchery
  • Paid for permits to rebuild boat slide at Siskeyville boat ramp on the Wilson River
  • Replaced tank on district liberation truck
  • Create turnout and Slide at Cedar Creek on the Trask River
  • Funded removal of log blocking navigation below “Poffs” on the Wilson River
  • Funded rebuilding of recirculation pump at Trask hatchery
  • Paid propane bill for back up generator at Hughey Creek acclimation pond
  • Upgraded alarm system at Hughey Creek acclimation pond from analog to digital
  • Purchased dip nets for Nehalem hatchery
  • Partially funded improvements on the Siskeyville boat ramp on the Wilson River
  • Paid for repairs on the Bays Creek Trap on the Nestucca River
  • Partially funded completion of the Cedar Creek hatchery abatement pump and pipeline project

  • Funded Trask River Cedar Creek boat slide/launch - Nip Isanhart Memorial
  • Partially funded replacement of the fish liberation truck tank for the Nehalem hatchery

  • Funded Upper Trask Pond alarm system and feeder system
  • Funded flatbed trailer for distribution of nutrient enhancement
  • Purchased waders for Nestucca broodstock evaluation project
  • Funded Tillamook Estuaries Partnership preliminary and final design - Miami Wetlands restoration project
  • Purchased eight 12 volt deep cycle batteries for live brood program
  • Funded gravel for road maintenance into Hughey Creek acclimation pond
  • Provided funding for Columbia River harvest reform
  • Funding for Tillamook Bay estuary habitat improvement
  • Approved funding for a moist air incubator for the Cedar Creek hatchery

  • Partially funded Vanderzanden boat slide repairs
  • Funding repairs and equipment replacement for Trask River Hatchery
  • Donated funds to Tillamook Anglers for purchase of commercial vacuum packer

  • Facilitate property acquisition to improve Tillamook Bay estuary habitat
  • Funded pipeline replacement for ponds 1-5 at Cedar Creek Hatchery
  • Funded Cedar Creek Hatchery liberation truck drop axel project
  • Funded OSU cormorant stomach analysis
  • Funded repairs for Nehalem Hatchery generator building & generator
  • Partially funded replacement of crew trailer for Trask River hatchery staff that live off station, used during their on call and feeding duties
  • Paying power bill for Hughey Creek Pond to acclimate summer steelhead, winter steelhead, and spring Chinook (2005 to present date)
  • Funding cormorant hazing on Tillamook Bay (2006 to present date)
  • Facilitate payment to sewer district for Cloverdale boat launch access  (2008 to present date)
  • Funded road/parking area repair at Siskyville boat ramp 

  • Partially funded Killam Creek Habitat Enhancement through Tillamook Bay Watershed Council  

  • Purchased Town Lake restoration permits, and no trespassing signs for Town Lake project 

  • Partially funded grading & paving project at Trask Hatchery  

  • Funded placement of rip rap & rock at Cloverdale Boat Landing area 

  • Funded repair, grading, asphalt paving, and erosion control at 1st bridge access 

  • Funded paving at Parks Landing – Kilchis 

  • Purchased back packs for fish planting project. 

  • Worked with the Reser Family Foundation to fund Mill Creek habitat restoration 

  • Funded the manufacturing of 4 live capture boxes for the Siletz River broodstock program 

  • Purchased 4 batteries for capture boxes for Siletz River broodstock program
